Our Technology
At Lotus Family Dental, we invest in modern technologies as part of our commitment to providing you with ongoing superior service. These technologies enhance our ability to detect oral health issues early on and to deliver highly accurate, thorough, and personalized treatment.
Our investment in technology allows us to enhance your patient-centered dental experience from the first moment you step into our office until the moment you leave. Using advanced data-management systems, we fast-track the check-in and checkout process, allowing you more time to relax before your appointment. Then, whether you need routine x-rays or a complete restoration, we use various technologies to enhance comfort, ensure safety, and speed up the treatment process. These technologies include:
Intraoral Cameras
This is a highly advanced piece of diagnostic equipment that allows you and Dr. Laura DeLuca to clearly see inside your mouth. The handheld camera can zoom in on a specific tooth, and all of the images are displayed on a television screen so that you can be an active part of your treatment.
Digital X-Rays
The Wand – Computer-Controlled Anesthesia
Anesthesia is be delivered through a syringe-free wand or pen-like device that is connected to a computer. The computer delivers a small amount of anesthetic so that the insertion site starts going numb right away.
Nitrous Oxide
You will remain alert and able to respond to Dr. Laura’s requests and questions while breathing nitrous oxide. It’s an effective option for increasing comfort, because relaxation occurs quickly and the depth of sedation can be increased or decreased, which few other sedation techniques allow.
DIAGNOdent
DIAGNOdent is a revolutionary way to detect and find cavities, using a laser diode to inspect your teeth. The light-emitting device is shined on the teeth and gives a digital readout which Dr. Laura is able to use to quickly and accurately detect tooth decay.
Air Abrasion
Air abrasion safely removes decay from a tooth without using a traditional dental drill. The handpiece uses a powerful air stream of tiny particles of aluminum oxide to painlessly remove tooth decay.
At Lotus Family Dental, we regularly upgrade our equipment because we know that advanced equipment ensures more accurate assessments, which means a better solution for your dental needs.
